Destination Specialist - Europe

Janel is a Pacific Northwesterner and Seattle, Washington, is her home. Janel's family instilled a love of travel early on as her dad was a geologist for the USGS and was often traveling to cool places to study their volcanic activity. Janel graduated from University of Puget Sound with a degree in International Relations and Affairs and went on to manage a dive travel business where she developed custom dive travel trips all around the world. Janel landed at REI where she developed adventure trips worldwide and then on to Product Manager for Europe and North America for the last eleven years. She fell in love with Europe thirty years ago when she cycled through the Loire Valley of France and hasn't stopped exploring Europe since! Some of Janel's personal favorites include hiking hut-to-hut in the Dolomites, Atlantic cod fishing in the Lofoten Islands, enjoying divine risotto on the shores of Lake Como, truffle hunting with Giovanni and his dog Lady in the Piedmont region of Italy, and sailing a catamaran from island-to-island in Croatia.

Janel has spent 30 years traveling to and working throughout Europe. She designs carefully tailored itineraries across the continent, including Croatia, France, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K., and Turkey.
